Protect yourself.

The protection from abuse statute seeks to protect men, women, and children who are being physically abused or threatened by a family member or significant other.

It is a civil, rather than a criminal matter, but can sometimes be filed in addition to criminal charges for crimes of violence. The statute provides very specific definitions of abuse, which have to be proven by a preponderance of the evidence before a final order can be entered by a judge.

Attorney Lewis has a great depth of experience in representing both sides of PFA cases—the abused/threatened (Plaintiffs) and those accused of abusing (Defendants).
